ABOUT BLOOM HUMAN SERVICES

Bloom Human Services is a family owned and operated company that was founded in 2021 by Amy and Jim Dietsche. After spending over a decade in the IDD/A field, Amy decided she did not like the quality of care she was seeing and wanted to do something about it. So, she forged a plan to create something different; something where the individual is the main propriety, person-centered practices are a must, and staff is adequately trained to give the highest level of care. With the help of Jim, they created Bloom Human Services to make that difference.

Amy Dietsche, Founder

Amy's journey to Bloom Human Services started at Bloomsburg University in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, where she found her passion for helping people. After earning her bachelor's degree in Psychology, she pursued her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology with a focus on Child and Adolescence Counseling at Chestnut Hill College. She entered the realm of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) as a Supports Coordinator with the goal of improving the quality of services provided to individuals with IDD. Amy moved to the field's management side as a Manager of Quality Assurance until she developed the desire to do more. After 11 years in the IDD field, she decided to improve the level of care provided to individuals in the community, and opened Bloom Human Services.

Jim Dietsche, Founder

Jim's road to Bloom Human Services started shortly after graduating High School as a Letter Carrier. He was focused on providing for his daughter, Madison, and making sure she had everything she needed in life. He focused on self-educating himself with his free time and learning as much as he could about business, accounting, physics, history and technology. After meeting Amy, he realized their different skill sets would allow her to achieve her dream of starting a company to make a difference in the IDD community. Jim fell in love with the IDD field, and he continues working with multiple consumers to make a difference in their lives. After 20 years as a Letter Carrier, Jim retired to make Bloom Human Services, it's employees, and all of their wonderful consumers his primary focus.

Nicole Bedekovich, Executive Director

Nicole comes to Bloom Human Services from the Philadelphia area!   In 2001, she became a Registered Medical Assistant. With this certification, there were many different paths in the Medical Field where she could be utilized. The most recent was a long standing management career in a laboratory setting at Jefferson Health Systems, where compassionate, patient centered care was always her top priority. While working in the Outpatient Services Department, she saw and cared for many individuals with IDD/A and built trusting relationships with them and their families. After almost 17 years caring for others in a medical setting, Nicole was ready to make a positive impact in the quality of care given to those with IDD/A by bringing her caring and compassionate nature to Bloom Human Services as their Executive Director.

Stevie Opperman, Service Coordinator

Stevie was born in Western PA and moved to the Harrisburg area at a young age. After settling down in Perry County, she started working in Health Insurance. After taking some time to raise her four children, she didn't feel right going back into the field as she wanted something with more fulfilling. In the beginning of 2022, she came across a Direct Support Professional position at Bloom and thought maybe this is what she has been looking for. She immediately started making a difference with her consumers and exceled at her position, going above and beyond what any consumer could expect from their DSP. After 2 years, Stevie accepted the position of Service Coordinator to guide Bloom's DSP team in making a difference of their own, while also still being there for the consumers. Stevie, in her free time, loves watching her kids play sports, reading, and spending time with her dogs!
